Posting my eulogy, as requested by the family: When I’ve lost someone and I sit down to reflect, I always try to put into perspective what that person has taught me in life, what they’ve left behind from their beautiful spirit. To put into words the 64 years Agie graced this Earth just isn’t possible in a few short paragraphs, because we all want to share so many memories that we have in our hearts. I think that everyone grieves differently and if I know anything about my beautiful godmother, it’s that she would want to be celebrated today and every day that you reminisce of her. Nothing but pure joy and smiles fill my heart when I think of her. She was such a wild spirit, the soul reason I end so many gatherings today by saying “It was real.” Because it WAS with her, every time. We had a special relationship, one that I’m very grateful for. We stayed in touch over the years even as life got busy, but every conversation brought us right back to what matters, and that is always family. I’m not sure many people understood the incredible love she shared with Bobby, but I don’t think we ever have to nor would she care if we did…she just wanted to authentically be Agie. Growing up, being taller than all of the boys and being so self conscious about it, turned out to be a defining asset that she grew to be known and admired for. Her style and grace, a tall goddess beauty with a fierce jewelry collection and rings on every finger. She had a passion for fashion, a love of too salty Chinese food, and her fur babies. To love and be loved, that’s what she lived for. Eclectic, funny, gorgeous, witty and sarcastic, and so unbelievably strong despite all of the pain she was in for the past few decades. We all admired that in her, but it was Diane who FELT it in her soul. Because Agie and Diane are what I like to call twin flames, it’s like they shared the same heart. Not biological twins, but surely twins in every other way, feeling each other’s pain and joy. Diane would like you to know that she will miss most sharing her deepest darkest secrets with her sister, who never judged a soul and listened with her whole heart and gave the best advice. Decades of quality time together will live on in both of their hearts. Those same candid and heartfelt conversations is what Donna will also miss the most, every one ending in “huggy poo for you and Tony”. There’s a hole in her heart that will never be filled, the love of a sister is pure, loyal and forgiving. Agie carried her mother’s beauty both inside and out, despite her physical pain. There’s one thing I know for certain…she was joined by the loving arms of every other soul we’ve lost here on Earth, especially her parents and her beloved brother. I’m pretty sure Joey was waiting with a “what took you so long sis, I’ve missed you.” That brings me joy. To know she went peacefully into their arms on her terms and is remembered and loved by so many.
