Arlene Marie Barlow, 76, of Delaware Township died peacefully at home on August 18, 2021, surrounded by her family. Born June 28, 1945 in Trenton, NJ to the late Charles McDaniel and Angelina (Julie) McDaniel.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Franklyn H. Barlow, Jr., her son Franklyn H. III, her daughter Dana and her husband Richard Golis and her daughter Danene and her husband Douglas Gooding. Four grandchildren; Tyler Golis, Jason Golis, Abigail Gooding and Matthew Gooding. A brother Richard McDaniel and a sister Geraldine Mattey.
She graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1963 and attended modeling school in Trenton.
She began working at McGraw Hill Publishing Company as a coder in New York City and then transferred to their Hightstown facility in 1964, retiring in 1968 to become a homemaker and start a family.
In 1969 she helped build the house in Delaware Township where she lived the rest of her life.
Her enjoyments in life included witnessing for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, reading the Bible, singing with her beautiful alto voice, taking care of her family, playing the piano, baking things her mother used to make, mending clothes her children and grandchildren would bring her, telling corny jokes, and tending to her grandchildren when they were young.
She was an avid church goer and later in life attended Cherryville Baptist Church.
Gathering, funeral services, and interment at Cherryville Cemetery, Cherryville, NJ, were private under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
