Audrey Melodie Zoschak

October 22, 1994 - July 28, 2020

Audrey Melodie Zoschak, a/k/a AnnaMae, age 25, passed away on July 28, 2020, in Portland, Oregon.

She is survived by her parents, Jennifer Zoschak Beckelman and Rob Beckelman; her beloved sister and best friend, Addison Mae Zoschak; her maternal grandparents, Dwaine Fry Sutherland and Lou and Babette Marcello; her half-siblings, Nicole Tyburski and Tommy Zoschak; and her father, Thomas K. Zoschak. Audrey also leaves behind her dear girlfriends, Ruby Trippett and Ashley Espinoza, with whom she spent the best year of her life in Portland.

Audrey was an avid streamer on Twitch.tv and an outspoken political activist, who called out injustice whenever and wherever she encountered it. She was a truly compassionate person who hoped that we could do better in the way we treated each other and worked tirelessly to educate those around her.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Triad House ( a Mercer County home for displaced LGBTQ youth at www.lifeties.org); Black Lives Matter – Campaign Zero (working to end police brutality through education, interactions and accountability www.blacklivesmatter.carrd.co/ ); or Joe “Bean” Keller’s campaign to raise funds for the August 28^th March on Washington (writer “Before There Was Trayvon”) .

The family will be welcoming guests to say goodbye to Audrey on August 15, 2020 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at an outdoor venue. Can't believe she's gone. Soo saddened to hear of this. Oh my. Damn I hope everyone is doing okay. It's soo hard to deal with something like this sometimes. Wish everyone who's reading this the best and hope you can make it through the difficult parts of life.

Correction: Due to personal life it’s been about 6 months since I’ve been on twitch, but I used to watch Anna stream and I was deeply saddened to learn of her passing last night. For someone who I only knew through limited online interactions this one hit me hard. I just want to say that Anna was an incredibly upstanding individual; she was never one to shy away from the issues (which I think a lot of streamers do), always shining a light on the the injustices she saw. She was remarkably smart and clever; I could always count on Anna to make me laugh, and I enjoyed trying to do the same for her. She had great taste in both music and anime (I still use her myanimelist profile for recommendations), and I’m sure so so many other things. Anna always motivated others to improve themselves, and I think that will carry on in the people she touched. My condolences to the family, you helped raise an amazingly caring, emphatic, thoughtful, and beautiful human in a world that is, unfortunately, not enough of those things. I regret not spending more time on her stream getting to know her better and never getting the privilege of meeting her in person, but there is not much time for regret in this life, so I will do everything in my power to make this world a better place in her memory. Audrey was someone who brought out the absolute best in others. She impacted so many people's lives and went out of her to make as many people happy as possible.

Audrey was amazing, supportive, friendly but also blunt when she needed to be... I could really go on about how great she was. My world is a less joyous place without her, no streams to look forward to, another warrior lost in the fight against civil injustice. Nothing and no one is going to fill this space missing in our lives. She loved her community and will always be loved by it. #AnnaGangForever
