Beverly Schnellbach Gesegnet, age 92 years, of Williamsville, NY, formerly of Grand Island, NY where she lived on the shores of the Niagara River, and her former husband, the late George Gesegnet brought up their three children, George, John and Martha.
Beverly died on April 16, 2020 after a short illness.
She is the daughter of Elizabeth & William J. Schnellbach of Buffalo, NY and granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Gustave Harmel also of Buffalo NY.
Beverly graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia with a BS in Music Education and received a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Buffalo. After graduating from college, Beverly returned to the Buffalo area and was a music teacher in Cleveland Hill and Cheektowaga school districts.
She was an active member of P.E.O International Chapter BI in Buffalo NY. As an accomplished musician, she was an avid supporter of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. She shared her talents on the piano and organ with several local Lutheran churches for many years. In later years, she was a real estate agent in Buffalo area for Hunt Real Estate.
She also enjoyed spending time in Sarasota, Florida and Lambertville, NJ with her sister’s family and traveled to both frequently in recent years.
She is survived by her sons, George Gesegnet and John Gesegnet; daughter, Martha Gesegnet; granddaughters, Laura Belancik (Benjamin) and Cheryl O’Connor (Brandon); great grand-daughters, Anna and Gracie Belancik; sister, Elizabeth S. Kohler; and nieces Ann & Karen Kohler.
A public life celebration service is being planned at a later date under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Flemington, NJ. Private family visitation and committal prayers, followed by cremation at Ewing Crematory, Ewing Township, NJ, took place under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ
Beverly’s internment is in the Acacia Park Cemetery in Tonawanda NY.
