Carole Dwyer Mueller, age 93 years, of Clinton, NJ, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the home of her daughter in High Bridge, NJ, surrounded by her cherished family.
Carole’s life was centered on faith and family. She was a devout Catholic, who inspired others through her love of God and through the countless sacrifices she made out of love for her family and those around her. Carole routinely practiced her faith through daily prayer, scripture reading, and worship. She not only passed down her faith to her children (and by extension to her grandchildren), but also to her husband Paul, to whom she was married for 69 years.
Raising children was Carole’s calling and she did so with great joy, love and skill. She ensured that her six children grew up in a loving, happy, and stable environment. She ran her large household and managed the busy schedules of her children with a work ethic and efficiency that would be the envy of any business leader. A talented seamstress, Carole lovingly crafted dresses for her daughters and granddaughters, each stitch a reflection of her care and creativity.
Carole loved babies, and had an unending, saintly patience for children. That great love extended to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a moral compass that pointed true north and she gave unerringly good advice with love and humor, and cut through the murkiest gray areas with razor-sharp insight.
Carole’s commitment to the importance of family was demonstrated every summer when she and Paul would pack up their children and visit relatives in her native Pittsburgh, PA, and in the Cincinnati area, Paul’s hometown. Annual beach vacations—especially to Ocean Isle Beach, NC—became cherished family traditions. She and Paul also shared a love of travel, enjoying memorable trips to Europe, Bermuda, Hawaii, and across the continental United States. Closer to home, Carole took great joy in attending sporting events, shows, dance recitals, graduations or any other function involving her children and grandchildren.
Carole is survived by her children Paul (Sharon), Carole (Andy), Mark, Stephen (Jennifer), Matthew (Louise), and Peter (Kerry), and by her grandchildren, Emily (Noah), Patricia (Evan), Amy (Patrik), Melissa (Taro), Brett (Molly), Jordan (John), Sarah (Bryan), Chris (Jill), Julia (Ryan), James, Caroline and Catherine, and great grandchildren, Claire, Peter, Grace, William, Austin, Jack, Emersyn, and Violet. She is also survived by her sisters, Helen, Kathleen, and Sara and brother, Owen.
Carole was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul, her parents Owen and Helen Dwyer, and her sisters Mary Eileen, Patricia, and Barbara.
