Doris P. Herzog, age 81 years, of Frenchtown, NJ, died peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at home, with her cherished husband of forty-eight years, Al, by her side.

Born at home in Baptistown, NJ, on February 23, 1941, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen Crowley Tinsman and was a lifelong area resident.

A 1959 graduate of Frenchtown High School, Doris was formerly an Assistant Manager at Stangl Pottery, Flemington, NJ, and had also worked as a smiling and cheery server at Candy Kitchen and the Pizza Stop, both in Frenchtown, NJ.

With a passion for cooking and entertaining family and friends, Doris was a member of the Stangl Pottery Club and truly enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Blair Paetzell; a son, Blair L. Paetzell; and a sister, Lorlyn Tinsman.

Surviving are her husband, Alfred Carl Herzog, with whom she joined hands in marriage on November 5, 1974; a son, Al Herzog; a sister, Joann Tinsman; a brother, George Tinsman; a niece, Bonnie Tinsman; two nephews, George Tinsman and Chris Philkill; several extended family members; her faithful feline companion, Oliver; and many dear friends.

Life celebration and cremation at the Chapel of Ewing Crematory, Ewing, NJ, were private under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.

I am so sorry for your loss Al. This must be such a hard time for you and your family. Doris was such a good neighbor to my husband and I when we first moved to Frenchtown. Her delicious cookies and pies were such a special treat and it was a pleasure to have known her. She so loved the deer that came to your fields. When ever I see the deer crossing the road I will think of her and say a prayer that your grief will be eased. Eileen

I didn't have the honor to meet her in person, but thanks to my partner I did speak with her and it confirmed all the beautiful things I had heard about her. My heart goes out to the family who are experiencing this huge loss. A soul like her leaves amazing memories and a bounty of love. You think someone will always be there. And then they are gone. I wish for the family that time will somewhat help to heal the pain. Doris was a wonderful person. There are no right words to fill the loss of a loved one.
