Train Enthusiast (Railfan) (Train Buff) Facebook group. We send our prayers and deepest condolences to all who knew and loved Ellen. Here was our post in our group. Very sad news as we announce the passing of one of our group family members Ellen Walker Kurz. I met Ellen on a chase of #brw60 trackside. We were both there for the same chase and began to talk. Shortly into our conversation it was discovered that she was friends with Brian Exley. This elevated our convo about the group, trains, and discussion about some of Brian’s photos around Clinton. Eventually 60 came and that ended our meeting, but she immediately joined our group, winning a few of our prestigious #coveroftheday awards. Ellen was a tremendous photographer. Although I only met her once, I could see she was cool, sweet, kind, and a good hearted person. She saw beauty in life, evident in some of her photos. It is with great sadness that I speak for our team here in sending our thoughts prayers and our deepest condolences to her husband, daughter, grandkids and to all her family and friends. Tonight in her memory, we will post one of her cover of the day winners in her memory as a tribute. RIP Ellen. — with Ellen Walker Kurz and Brian Exley.

I worked with Ellen for a couple for years. She lived 2blocks from me and we would ride in together and home together. Her best friend,Betty had died a couple of years ago, and she checked on her every day, just like I did. She was just a kind hearted person, and a sassy lady. I will miss her dearly.

Our hearts are broken. For I have lost the dearest of cousins. I am the envy of my friends when I tell them that i have a Genealogy Expert Cousin that sent me my ancestors in my mailbox! And that is how it began 13 years ago. I wrote to thank her for the work in Find A Grave. We connected and shared a mighty bond swapping information on ancestors or "dead people", as she called them. She will be sorely, sorely missed by all of us in the genealogy world for her skills at finding documentation is beyond compare. I have been so blessed to have known her. We shared so much laughter and joy finding clues on the road of ancestry. May she rest in peace. Hugs to all the family and may you find strength in one another. I'm writing more as there is so much to say about Ellen . She found me on Facebook just months before Johnny died and we talked on the phone. Ellen and I met in a restaurant in NJ with Marsh later and talked for hours. Could have been days. We loved each other on Facebook. I love her so much still. What a beautiful soul. I wish I could know you all. To my dear family that I hardly know, celebrate life like Ellen would. We are lucky to have her example. My love and prayers to you all. Sally

I'm so sorry for our loss of Ellen. She was the most amazing, loving person. I am so thankful that she found me on Facebook to allow me to connect with a family I didn't know that I had. your father, Jonny was my mothers cousin, but Jonny came to my grandmother's funeral as she was the eldest sister of your grandmother. Johnny came to my grandmother's funeral and my mothers funeral, the last time I saw your father. Johnny
