Emma C. Moskal, age 95 years, of Flemington, NJ, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Jersey City, NJ on February 5, 1926, Emma was the daughter of the late Esther and Lewis Joynes. She married Peter Moskal in 1950 and resided in Jersey City until 1974 when they moved to Woodbridge, NJ. After Peter passed away in 1977, she later resided in Toms River with her son and family and then moved to Flemington, NJ in 1997 where her daughter and family resided.
Family meant everything to Emma and always came first. Keeping everyone close and connected with each other was so important to her. The family peacemaker, she set a great example, and had so much love in her heart for everyone. Her joy was spending time with family and helping them in any way possible.
Emma was employed by Christ Hospital in Jersey City as a secretary until she retired in 1991. Bowling was her favorite hobby. She was in various leagues much of her life, the last one being the Hunterdon County Spicy Seniors. She was also an avid card player, with 500 Rummy being her favorite game. She would often initiate games with her neighbors and family and was very hard to beat.
Emma was predeceased by her parents; husband; brothers, Lewis and Arthur and their spouses; and son, Gary who died at birth (twin of Robert). She is survived by her two loving children, Robert Moskal and Donna De Vico; son-in-law, John De Vico; former daughter-in-law, Grace; six grandchildren, Lisa, Gary, Robyn, Lauren, Kristen, and John; four great-grandchildren, Sal, Justin, Mason, and Dallas; one great-great grandchild, Grayson; and several nephews and cousins.
Emma’s legacy will be the kindness and unconditional love she gave to others. While she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in our hearts and minds.
Cremation at the Chapel of Ewing Crematory was private under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. A private memorial celebration will be held on October 3, 2021.
