Esther Ellen Raab, age 93 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving family and under the caring watch of Hunterdon Hospice.
Born on April 1, 1928, daughter of the late William and Alma Belmont Slocum, she was raised in South River, NJ and had lived in Flemington since 1999, having formerly lived in South River and Cranbury, NJ.
Marrying her devoted husband, Al Raab on March 26, 1949 at Conklin Methodist Church in South River, the two enjoyed a wonderful life of love and dedication. It was the little things that kept the romantic spark alive for them; for example, Esther ensured that Al had lunch everyday, whether he came home or she brought it to the dealership, the two were always there for one another.
Particular and meticulous, Ester was always clean and organized. She enjoyed sewing and knitting, crosstitch and crocheting, and solving puzzles.
A devout nature lover, she enjoyed her gardens and loved animals, especially birds and dogs.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Raab; a son, Michael Raab; her granddaughters, Kim and her husband, Mike Mariaschin, Gayle Federico, and Elisa Raab; and her two grad-pups, Nittany and Shadow.
Arrangements will private under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
