Gary Howard Weiss, age 65 years, of Clinton Township, NJ, died on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born on October 28, 1957, in the Bronx, NY, Gary was pre-deceased by his parents, Leonard and Clarisse Weiss. He is survived by his wife, Debbie, and sons, Sam and Ben. Gary is also survived by his mother-in-law, Betsy Seligman, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Tracie Seligman, and nieces and nephews, Matthew, Madison, Sarah, and Michael.
Gary was a life-long Jets and Mets fan and loved spending Sundays in the living room with Debbie, Sam and Ben all dressed in their Jets jerseys cheering on their team!
He loved everything about food. We mean EVERYTHING!! Gary loved to browse the grocery stores and specialty food stores looking for new and interesting things. He was a great cook, and a great food critic. Anyone who cooked for him waited for his famous “Nice, very nice” review to let them know their food met his seal of approval. He even loved wrapping and packing up left overs often telling his family to back off and let him do it!
Gary enjoyed fishing, golfing and nature. Not sure we’ll mention bees in this writing!
Who remembers “Let’s Make a Deal?” The standing joke was that Gary could certainly come up with ANYTHING Monty Hall asked for in his bag of tricks! That bag never left his side. He shlepped that thing everywhere!!
Gary wasn’t a fan of music but one of the family’s fondest memories is of them taking a road trip, having Paul Simon’s “Loves Me Like a Rock” come on the radio and suddenly Gary belting out the song on the top of his lungs. Everyone was in shock but laughed and sang along!
Gary will be missed and remembered by all who were lucky enough to know and love him.
