Gerald Warren “Jerry” Holden, age 64 years, of Elkton, MD, died peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the home of a dear friend in Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Cooperstown, NY, September 12, 1955, son of the late Warren Norman Holden and Jeanette Lucy Day Holden, Jerry was formerly a manufacturing superintendent who traveled around the United States running various operations.
He had a larger than life personality who was known for his humor, but also for his keen sense of wisdom and intelligence.
Family was a source of pride for Jerry, and he was extremely proud to be know by his grandchildren as the affectionate and loving, “Grandpa Poopy Head”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Holden.
Surviving are a daughter, Casey and her husband, Kevin Miller; a son and two daughters that he shared with Kathy Holden, Jesse Warren Holden and his fiancé, Mandy Hess, Sammi and her husband, Kevin Taylor, and Hayley Holden; his grandchildren, Jed Myers, Josie Myers, Brooke Taylor, Harper Holden, Evelyn Halsey, Jocelyn Taylor, Charlie Halsey, and Jett Holden; his siblings, Linda Holden Hogan, Richard Holden and his wife, Betsy, Carole and her husband, David Holden, and Barbara Holden; several extended family members; and many dear friends.
Life celebration services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2019 at St. Mary Anne’s Episcopal Church, 315 South Main Street, North East, MD 21921. Following the services, all are invited for a time of fellowship and continued celebration at Valhalla Brewing Co., 41 Cherry Hill Road, Elkton, MD 21921.
Local services and cremation at Ewing Crematory, Ewing Township, NJ are under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ 08822.
