Gregory Jude Hiltey, age 60 years, of Ewing Township, NJ, died suddenly on Thursday, October 3, 2019.

Born on June 11, 1959, Greg was raised in Ringoes, NJ, son of the late Jacob and Margaret Drummey Hiltey.

A well respected and hard working roofer, for many years “Big Greg” owned and operated Selected General Contracting, Ringoes, NJ. He also worked with many wonderful people over the years at Eastern Seboard Roofing, J. Strober & Sons Roofing, Strober-Wright Roofing, and for the past ten years, Kobren & Son Roofing.

Greg’s work ethic was admired by all who knew him and he in turn respected anyone who put in a hard day’s work. He had a natural leadership ability that garnered respect on any job-site, and he enjoyed teaching new entrants into the field of roofing.

He was on a constant quest for knowledge and enjoyed listening to various educational podcasts on subject matter that ranged from math to classical music; he was very eclectic to say the least! Greg also enjoyed fishing on the Delaware River.

Surviving are a son, Gregory Helfrich; a daughter, Brianna Hiltey; his siblings, Christopher, Darlene, and Jackie Hiltey; his longtime companion, Tracy McNulty; Greg’s mother, Christine Helfrich; Brittany’s mother, Sherry Ottinger; and many dear friends.

Life celebration services will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ 08822.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cremation and interment were private.
