Hans Rudolf “Rudy” Reckmann, age 70 years, of East Amwell Township, died peacefully at home on Sunday, January 9, 2022.
Affectionately called “Rudy” by family and friends, he was born on September 28, 1951 to loving parents Theodor and Drusilla May Clemens Reckmann. An only child, Rudy was loved unconditionally by his parents, and in return loved them and cared for them on every level. Sadly, both his mother and father passed within a month of one another in 2001.
Earning a MA from Rider University, Rudy was an accomplished CPA, working as the Senior Staff Accountant in the Finance Department of Johanna Foods, Inc., Raritan Township, NJ for the past fourteen years, specializing in taxation. He was extremely well read and valued education as a way to understanding and living life.
Having many hobbies, Rudy enjoyed good food, beer, and cooking. One of his greatest passions was online stock trading, and he spent many hours researching and understanding the actions he took.
Growing up in the greater Flemington, NJ area, Rudy was naturally involved with the Flemington Speedway during its long run. Loving fast cars, Rudy stayed involved with the Flemington Speedway Historical Society to ensure the next generation knew the wonderful history of the speedway.
Loving all animals, Rudy had a special affection for cats, especially the Manx short haired, no tail cat breed. At the office, with colleagues who Rudy considered family, he would often say good morning by smiling and saying “meow”, ensuring that everyone started the day off on a fun note.
He will forever be remembered as a character who had a good sense of humor, as well as a great singing voice complete with near perfect pitch! He loved all types of music that crossed genres that most would never associate as going together, and loved sending music recommendations to his friends.
Though Rudy didn’t share his faith publicly, he was a man of faith in Christ and aspired to live according to his Lutheran upbringing as evidenced by the many Biblical artifacts he collected over the years.
John 3:18 says, Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. Rudy lived his life in a way that spread light and love to all who knew him. His many contributions to society and the workplace will be missed, but as his soul is commended to Heaven, he would want all to find solace and peace knowing he is at Home, with his beloved mother and father.
