Helen Frances Rainey, age 92 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, former longtime resident of Westfield, NJ, died peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Independence Manor, Raritan Township, NJ, under the caring watch of Hunterdon Hospice and the loving staff of Independence Manor.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert J. Rainey; parents Walter Andrew Travis and Ellen Margaret (Gildersleeve) Travis; sister Margaret Mary Travis; and granddaughter Erin Eileen Craig. Helen is survived by her 4 children and their spouses: Robert Rainey, MaryEllen and James Wickett, Richard and Mary Elizabeth Rainey, and Eileen and William Craig; 10 grandchildren and their spouses: Erin and Francois Petit, Jennifer and Steve Mann, Matthew Chilelli and Taoran Zhao, David and Monica Chilelli, Travis Rainey, Connor Rainey, Liam Rainey, Nolan Rainey, Sarah and James Cunningham, and Ryan Craig and Sarah Johnson; and 7 great-grandchildren: Eleonore, Henri, and Jacques Petit; Colton and Connor Mann; Bennett and Evelyn Chilelli.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. John Primich will take place on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Everyone is kindly asked to meet at the church on Friday morning beginning at 10:15 a.m.
Burial at St. Charles/Resurrection Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY, will be private.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
