Jeanette Sonia Dilley, age 82 years, of Flemington, NJ, died peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ after a brief illness.
Always the educator, Jeanette penned the following for her life legacy:
Jeanette Dilley was a beloved wife, godmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, teacher, and one who poured her heart into everything she did.
Her parents were the late Mary and Samuel Pichacz of Delaware Township. She retired from teaching after 39 years of devotion to her career.
Her late husband was Fred J. Dilley who owned the West Hunterdon Bus Company that brought people from many area of Pennsylvania and here in Hunterdon County to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City.
Jeanette and the Pichacz family were responsible for donating one acre of land to the Sergeantsville United Methodist Church. In addition, they donated a playground to the church that was to be used by the church members and the entire community.
At one time she was Vice-President of the Soroptimist Club of Hunterdon County.
In the past she was involved with Thanksgiving In The Country for 39 years as head of transportation. This is a project for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Jeanette was also a member of the Delaware Township Seniors. For a short time she served as program chairman. She was also involved with the Wounded Warrior Project.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her longtime companion, John Bowman, whom she met many, many years after Fred”s passing.
Surviving are her siblings, Alex Pichacz and his wife, MaryAnn, and Lillian Snook; one niece; three nephews; several extended family; the many students she considered as her own children; and many dear friends.

Private immediate family viewing, a life celebration service officiated by Certified Celebrant D.J. Wright, and burial next to her beloved husband at Cherryville Cemetery, Cherryville, NJ, was private under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
