I am deeply saddened to learn of John's passing. I met John when he and I served on a Department of Energy committee in the 2000's. Although we did not work for the same company, and lived on opposite sides of the country, we were both chemists; however, we shared a lot more in common than just that. I always admired John's keen intelligence. As a result of our DOE assignment we developed a great friendship. We shared a lot of good meals in DC, and a few beers. We both retired about the same time, but we remained in contact by telephone through the years. In the last couple of years it was very difficult for him to speak, and he was getting progressively weaker; however, I hope he enjoyed our calls. I will deeply miss him.

In remembering John what comes immediately to mind is kind, generous, patient, witty, a brilliant mind. John, you will always be remembered for your endless contributions in this life and to the world. Thank you for your presence in our family and your care and love of Diane. Heaven just received a truly GOOD man. So much love, Melody and Ed, sister-in-law and brother-in-law.

My Brother-In-Law. My Sister Diana's soulmate. He was one of the most intelligent, outspoken and kindest people I've ever had the privilege to know. Godspeed, John. And may peace be all you know . Love you.
