Joseph E. Connolly

Joseph E. Connolly, Jr., age 60, of Murrells Inlet, SC, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ. He was born on May 31, 1947, in Orange, NJ the son of Joseph Connolly, Sr. and Evelyn Connolly and lived in Livingston, NJ and Flemington, NJ before moving to Murrells Inlet in 2006. He served in the US Airforce during the Vietnam Conflict. A graduate of Seton Hall University and Seton Hall Law School, Mr. Connolly was an attorney and partner in the law firm, Connolly, Vreeland & Connolly in Livingston, NJ until retiring last year. In the late 1980s and early 1990s he was the attorney for the Livingston Planning Board. He was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Livingston, NJ Elks-BPOE #1855, a member of the Hunterdon Bucks Over-50 Baseball League, a coach and board member for many years of the Flemington-Raritan Baseball League and a member of the Livingston, NJ Rotary Club. In addition to his parents of Murrells Inlet, SC, he is survived by his wife Lydia Connolly; two sons, Daniel Connolly of Myrtle Beach, SC and Christopher Barry of Clinton, NJ; one daughter, Dr. Jennifer Barry of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Susan Oberleiton of Livingston, NJ and Kathleen Basczcewski of Morris Plains, NJ; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 8:00 pm in the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, #38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm until time of service.
