Joe's favorite sport was wresting. He and I were both on the Seton Hall wrestling team. We started as sophomores. I will always remember the first day of practice. Joe and I got there early and were practicing full nelsons, a pro wrestling move which is not allowed in amateur sport. Always later we laughed about it. We used to hitchhike home after practice. One day this guy picked us up and we told him we were coming from wrestling practice and he said "oh great like Haystacks Calhoun (who used to hit opponents with his lucky horseshoe) and Joe said no that was all fake and we were doing real Olympic style wrestling. The guy got so mad that he kicked us out of his car. We used to starve to make weight. One night we went to a mixer at Seton Hall and Joe turned to me and said "they all look like roast beef" and he was right, we were that hungry and we left. He always had a smile and not a bad bone in his body. I had Irish luck to be his friend.

In loving memory of my Brother in Law Joseph F. Egan...” A life well lived is a light to the world” Joseph’s selfless devotion to his family, quiet strength, wisdom and kindness will be forever remembered. A gentle smile and quick wit accented his strong work ethic. Joe was a mentor to me throughout my professional career with Johnson & Johnson teaching the importance of personal integrity in life and sharing his expert understanding of global business structure. Joe you will remain in our hearts forever and have left our family your legacy of love and strength. May the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ embrace you as you enter into eternal life with Him. Rest In Peace until we see you again. John 11: 25-26 Jesus said to her, “ I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
