Joseph Salvatore Lariccia, age 81 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday, November 27, 2015 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset, Somerville, NJ.
Born in Monacileone, Italy, May 31, 1934, son of the late Salvatore and Louise Pasquale Lariccia, he had resided in Raritan Township since 1987, having formerly lived for many years in Staten Island, NY after emigrating to the United States at the age of fourteen.
A United States Army veteran of the Korean War, Joseph was the retired owner and operator of Midland Meat Markets, Staten Island, NY.
He was a communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ. Joseph loved to cook and was devoted to being a strong provider for his family. He kept a close circle of friends and will be remembered for his determination and friendship.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas, who died at the age of four years and by a daughter, Bernadette Duenas in 2011.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-one years, Antonia “Maria” Cordone Lariccia; his children, Benedetto and wife, Melinda Lariccia of Staten Island, NY, Joseph Nicholas Lariccia of Raritan Township, NJ, Antoinette and husband, Anthony Dimino of Kingwood Township, NJ, Maria Louise and husband, John Yasenchak of Flemington, NJ, Maria and husband, Charles Colt of Flemington, NJ; his son-in-law, Sal Duenas of Palm Beach, FL; a sister, Louisa Pasquale of Staten Island, NY; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Entombment will follow in St. Magdalen Mausoleum, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday, November 30, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
