Judy Thorne Morgan, age 69 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 09, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 10, 1955, in Somerville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Apgar Thorne. A Lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, NJ, Judy’s smile and laugh reverberated everwhere she went.
A 1973 graduate of North Hunterdon Regional High School, Judy went on to become the Circulation Manager for the largest weekly paper in Hunterdon County, and the place where everyone went for their news and local community information, The Hunterdon County Democrat.
Elvis’s #1 fan is a self-label Judy gave herself, but if you knew her, she was right! A social butterfly, Judy loved baking and many were the recipients of her cakes and apple pies over the years. She also loved flower gardening and was extremely crafty; from needlework to other homemade items, craft fairs were her favorite! After retirement, she was also proud to be a dedicated “Poll Worker” for the Hunterdon County Board of Elections where she welcomed her neighbors each year with her hearty smile as they cast their ballots.
Judy’s world though, was truly her family. A proud mom to Jennifer and Edward, she was blessed with her two grandsons, Jaden and Lucas, who truly were the light in her eyes. With her family and friends, Judy also enjoyed beach trips to Long Beach Island and attending whatever sports and other activities her grandsons were involved with; usually ending with a stop to get ice cream, Judy’s favorite treat.
Blessed with a devout faith, she was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church where she became dear friends with whom she referred to as her “Spiritual Sister”, Rev. Linda Gaden.
Judy will be missed but while reflecting upon her life and what these words might look like, she stated, “I want the world to know I died happy and loved. And, by the way, go eat some ice cream!” Her spirit of life will continue to shine through all who were touched by her caring heart as she journeyed through this life. To honor her, is to live each day a bit more fully, and to conclude each night with some ice cream and a smile, topped with a whole lot of gratitude.
Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer Morgan; her son and daughter-in-law, Edward Charles Morgan II and Yasmin Galarza; her cherished grandsons, Jaden and Lucas; the father of her children and good friend, Edward Morgan; her brother and sister-in-law, David and Barb Thorne; several extended family members; and many dear friends.

Linda Gaden will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, 2 Race Street, Pittstown, NJ 08867, under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
