Katherine Elizabeth Rose, age 59 years, of Raritan Township, Hunterdon County, NJ, died peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Hunterdon Medical Center.
Born on November 18, 1960, in Queens NY, she was the daughter of Elizabeth Kab and the late Vyto Kab.
A graduate of DePaul High School in Wayne NJ, Kathy went on to earn double Bachelor of Science degrees in Speech and Communications from Penn State University. Following graduation she tried her hand at many different professions including marketing, real estate, retail sales and office management but found her calling, as the loving, supportive, sympathetic, always there partner to her husband Mark. She also liked to shop, and not the Amazon way of today, Kathy was ‘I’m going to the store be back by dinner time’ shopper. It did not matter that you could drive to the mall and get everything in one place, it was the search for the bargain, drive an extra 30 minutes to get a specific sandwich from a deli she liked, and then drive back.
Her husband recalls, “I never figured it out, but I think she just liked to drive, get lost in some tunes and enjoy the moment, regardless if she was getting a cup of coffee or groceries for the week.”
Kathy loved sharing with everyone; her home, her dinner plate, her ear, her advice, her heart, it did not matter to Kathy what you needed, and she was there to give it to you, no strings attached.
She had interests and hobbies she pursued, she painted, she played golf, but her joy was family. Her immediate family, her extended family, she had a way of bringing light into any room. Her talent was her heart and soul. Everyone wanted her on their team, or their side. Everyone wanted sit with her, at her table, by her side. It never seemed to matter the occasion, happy or sad, things were just better when Kathy was there. We can start now, Kathy is here.
Kathy never set out to be these things it just happened, call it evolution, call it fate, she was the person everyone wanted to be with. Her grace, her smile, her laughter, her passion, her love will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vyto Kab Sr, as well as by her Aunt, Irene Raffo and Uncles Edward and Tom Raffo.
Surviving are her husband, Mark; her mother, Elizabeth; her siblings, Vyto and John; her nieces, Devon, Dillon, Beth and Claudia; her nephew George, cousins, and extended family; and many dear friends.
