Leslie Ann Sharpe Arecco, age 50 years, of Chapin, SC, former longtime Hunterdon County, NJ resident, died on Saturday, June 12, 2021 in South Carolina.
Born at Hunterdon Medical Center on May 20, 1971, daughter of James P. Sharpe, Sr. and the late Florence E. Boehm Sharpe, Leslie was raised in Lambertville, NJ, and moved to South Carolin fifteen years ago.
Attending South Hunterdon Regional High School, she was known for her zany humor and the ability to always march to the beat of her her own drum. Loving and kind-hearted, Leslie was one who would give the shirt of her back to help someone in need and she was a true friend to many.
Her personality allowed her to make friends wherever she went, and times spent with friends and family were the best times in her life; from shooting pool at Fran’s in New Hope, PA, to putting on anything with a lime green color and just singing by a fire pit appreciating life, these are the times Leslie lived for, and the times where her omnipresent presence was always appreciated.
Leslie was in many ways a ‘southern gal’ long before moving down south, as she had a familiar ‘twang’ in her voice that developed as a teenager in bucolic Hunterdon County, NJ. Her ‘poofy’ hair was also a trademark, but it is the loving care with which she took of her daughter, Katherine, that she will most be remembered. Katherine, who sadly and suddenly died several months after she was born, was shown a tenderness by her adoring mother that never wained over the years. Leslie was adamant to keep the memory of her angel alive, and it is comfort to all to know that they are now joined together in eternity.
In addition to her mother, Florence, and her daughter, Katherine Nicole Sharpe, she was preceded in death by her brother, James P. Sharpe, Jr.
Surviving are her father and step-mother, James P. Sharpe, Sr.and Sharon Sharpe; her husband, Jack Peter Arecco III; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Polly and Paul Bokus and Wendy and Sal Maltese; her sister-in-law, Debra Sharpe; her beloved dog, Zeus; several nieces, nephews, cousins , and extended family; and many friends.
