Leslie Buck Rogers, age 65 years, of Flemington, NJ, died peacefully at home on Friday, October 4, 2024, surrounded by her cherished family and under the caring watch of Hunterdon Hospice.
Born to the late Florence and Lester Buck of Lehighton, PA, Leslie always believed she had the coolest birth date on 5/9/59.
As the youngest of six siblings, she was affectionately known as the baby of the family. Leslie cherished her childhood days spent riding bicycles around the neighborhood, drinking from garden hoses on hot summer days, and swimming in the Pohopoco Creek (Big Creek) near her home. She delighted in hunting for crayfish and tadpoles, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
A remarkably intelligent and quick-witted individual, Leslie graduated from Lehighton Area High School with honors and earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Bloomsburg University. In 1983, she began her career at Hunterdon Medical Center, where she dedicated 35 years to providing compassionate care, including working with oncology patients and, later, in home health.
Leslie moved to Flemington, NJ, to start her family and raise three children. She supported her children in their sport endeavors. Leslie was a loving grandmother and an active member of Living Waters Lutheran Church. She enjoyed quilting, participating in book club, and spending time with her many friends, especially at her favorite spot, the Lazy River in Orlando. She shared many get togethers with her four sisters. She also loved traveling to various destinations through her timeshare.
She is survived by her children, Christopher Rogers, his wife Erika Rogers, Kyle Rogers, Carly Rogers and her wife Maria Ortiz, as well as granddaughter, Ashlyn Rogers. Leslie was preceded in death by Lester A. Buck, Florence J. Buck, Laurence E. Buck, and Edward Wood.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 2:30-4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
A Life Celebration Service officiated by Rev. J.J. Simpson-Keelan, along with reflections from family and friends, will follow the gathering beginning at 4:00 p.m., and to which all are welcome.
For all those attending, please wear dark purple as Leslie wanted this to be an event where people would smile as they celebrated and reflected upon her legacy.
Interment will be private.
