Louise Kathryn Homulak, age 82 years, of Hillsborough NJ, former longtime Hunterdon County, NJ, resident, died peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Foothill Acres Rehabilitation Center in Hillsborough, NJ.
Born on November 19, 1942, in Glen Gardner, NJ, daughter of the late Lester Howard Sutton and Kathryn Apgar Sutton, she resided in Hunterdon County until 1995, when her and Michael, her late husband, relocated to Florida to live out their retirement dreams. Upon Michael’s passing in 2019, Louise returned to New Jersey to surround herself with family.
Louise graduated from North Hunterdon High School in 1961, and attended Churchman’s Business School in Easton, PA.
Though she was a hard and diligent worker, above all else Louise would want to be forever remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Simply put: family was everything.
Louise meet her husband on the day he crashed her birthday party; it was a true “cupid’s arrow love story” with them falling for each other instantly. Married four months after that first meeting, Mike and Louise would credit their love to always being genuine with one another, a trait that was admired by all who knew them. Their love resulted in two daughters, Donna and Gail, and a son, Mike, as well as their spouses, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren, and of course all the love that a growing family brought with it!
The act of helping others brought immense joy to Louise’s heart. When her children were young, she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher, a Girl Scout Leader and was a 4-H volunteer. When her children were grown, she continued her community service by volunteering for ‘The Citizen’s Patrol’ and organizing toy drives for underprivileged children.
Traveling was another passion that Louise, Mike, and their family enjoyed. She was very proud of having visited all fifty states, and reveled in camping in many of them. She also had a passion for all animals, and throughout her life had many cats and dogs whom she happily spoiled!
Surviving are her loving children and their spouses, Donna and John Harabedian, Gail and Robert Mitchell, and Michael Lester and Andrea Homulak; her devoted grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Keith Paradiso, Kristen and Trea Turner, Zachary and Brittany Harabedian, Kevin and Kayla Mitchell, Katherine and Sean Fitzpatrick, and Elizabeth Homulak; eight great-grandchildren, a brother and a sister-in-law, Joseph and Suzanne Homulak; several extended family members; and many dear friends.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to Noon in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
A life celebration service officiated by Certified Life Celebrant D. J. Wright will take place at Noon at the funeral home, and to which all are welcome.
