It is with great sadness that the family of Maria LoPiccolo announces her passing after a brave battle with Huntington’s Disease and complications from COVID-19. Heaven gained an angel on Monday, April 13, 2020. Maria was 77 years old.
Maria was born May 24, 1942 in Carini, Sicily in Italy, daughter of Francesca and Giovanni Ingargiola. Maria was a caring daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. Maria came to the United States in 1977 to Brooklyn, NY and moved to Flemington in 1990 where she lived for the last 30 years.
In addition to her parents, Maria is predeceased by her sisters, Vita Caravello, Giuseppina Mannino, her brother Nino Ingargiola and her beloved husband of 36 years, Salvatore LoPiccolo.
She is survived by her son Pasquale (Lou) and his fiance Jennifer; her son John and his wife Laura; her son Salvatore and his wife Melanie; and her nine grandchildren, Giovanni, Michael, Nicholas, James, Anthony, Adriana, Marco, Christian, Anabella and her soon to be tenth grandchild. She is also survived by her three sisters, Giovanna Giambanco, Rosa Picone, Rosalia Monterosso and her brother, Giuseppe Ingargiola. She was cared for in her last two years by her loving family and the caring staff at Country Arch.
She was a beloved wife, loving mother to her three sons and a most cherished Nonna. She truly enjoyed life because of her love for her family. Maria’s face would light up a room just at the sight of one of her grandchildren. Her family will never forget her overload of kisses on the cheek and hearing Nonna sing to her favorite Italian songs. Maria also loved to cook and was a seamstress when she first moved to Flemington. She will always be remembered for sitting at her sons’ pizzeria with her husband greeting customers. Everyone knew her as “Ma” as she will forever be remembered for her love of family. Ti amiamo sempre e per sempre.
