Mark Robert DiNunzio, age 59 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died peacefully at home on Monday, January 23, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and under the caring watch of Hunterdon Hospice.
Born on November 17, 1963 in Summit, NJ, he lived in Berkeley Heights, NJ, before moving to Spring Hill, FL, and Virginia. Mark then returned to work and live in Hunterdon County, NJ.
An accomplished tiler, he worked for 40 years enjoying his craft and working on everything from new construction to home remodels- not to mention all the family members asking for his advice and help on their DIY projects!
A genuine soul whose heart cared for others, Mark was non-judgmental and gave of himself generously to all, especially family and friends.
Loving the outdoors, Mark could be found teaching his great nephew to fish or constructing a remote control vehicle. Some of his most cherished memories were made on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and the West Coast of Florida with his family and friends. Mark was the “Cool Uncle” that loved the beach.
When Mark wasn’t cheering on his favorite team, the NY Giants, he could be found constructing remote control airplanes, boats and race cars.
One of Mark’s greatest hobbies was learning about tropical fish and taking care of his beautiful tropical aquarium.
The author and philosopher Viktor E. Frankl once wrote, “The meaning of life is to give life meaning.” Though his time on this Earth was too short by our standards, Mark certainly gave meaning to the lives of all those his heart touched, and who will continue to live life with meaning in his honor. To celebrate Mark, everyone is asked to simply stand at a beach when they are able, and just find gratitude in life…and also to always root for the NY Giants!
Surviving are his mother, Betty Hogan; his children, Victoria DiNunzio and Juan DiNunzio; his granddaughter, Olivia; his sisters, Laurie Thurston and Tracey Hopkins; his niece and nephews, Hannah-Kate Coultas, Justin Flanagan, Joshua Flanagan, Christopher Coultas, and Tim Coultas; four great nieces, two great nephews, several cousins, and extended family members; and the many friends made wherever he went.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
A Life Celebration service officiated by Rev. Christopher Small will follow the gathering beginning at 3:30 p.m. and to which all are welcome.
Interment will be private.
