Marlene “Molly” Anderson, age 70 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family and under the caring watch of Hunterdon Hospice.
Born in New Brunswick, NJ, May 31, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Peter E. and Jane Konopacki Layeski. Raised in South River, NJ, Molly attended and graduated from the Woodbridge Fashion Technical High School in 1970, where she received her education in fashion and design. She was a talented seamstress, loved cooking, baking, and traveling.
Molly and her true love, John, bought a home and moved to Flemington, NJ, in 1979. John and Marlene joined hands in holy matrimony on May 22, 1980. They truly found their forever soulmate and enjoyed forty-two years of marriage. Together they enjoyed traveling to Virginia to the Chincoteague Oyster Festival, where they would have oysters steamed or on the half shell. Their life together embodies the words of one of Molly’s favorite inspirational writers, Louise Hay, “I am thankful for all the love in my life.”
Molly was a compassionate, loving, and empathetic individual who would do anything for anyone. As Hay also wrote, “I have come to this planet to learn to love myself more, and to share that love with all those around me”. She especially loved sharing her delicious treats after baking rhubarb pie or carrot cake in her kitchen.
Surviving, in addition to her cherished husband of forty-two years, John, are her brother, Richard Layeski and his wife, Judy; two sisters, Charlotte Bird and her husband, Gil and Phyllis Cudworth and her husband, Don; two stepchildren; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
