Mary Lillian Attermeyer

Dr. Mary Lillian Attermeyer, age 84 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at home.

Mary was an accomplished classical pianist who loved Beethoven.

She earned her doctorate in Physical Chemistry from the University of Illinois, at a time when this was groundbreaking for a woman.

Working in various parts of the United States, Mary settled in California, where she worked for TRW.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Jacobs.

Surviving are her siblings; Dorothy Attermeyer (Horn), Janet Shuttlesworth (Mark), and Joan Bercari (Enzo).

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Immaculate Conception BVM Church, 106 Carlisle Street, New Oxford, PA 17350 at 1:30p.m., to which all are welcome.

Burial will be held privately at a later date in Redlands, CA.

Arrangements were held by the Wright and Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ 08822.
