Our condolences to Mary’s family.. Our daughter Kyleigh received the Mary Kleiner scholarship at Hunterdon Central years ago for students pursuing a degree in Nursing. It was such an honor and Kyleigh successfully fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse like Mary; such an honorable profession. May beautiful memories always be with you. Amy and Kyleigh Melick

We knew her as Mrs. Kleiner at Woodfern while my younger brother Joe was a student there in the 1960s. Like many elementary school kids, he found plenty of reasons to visit the nurse and one of her skills was in giving students the mental “push” to get well and back to class. Years later we connected again through my work at the Democrat and she was even more compassionate and understanding, it seemed. My condolences to her family.

My sister and I want to thank those who have shared some early comments. Aunt Marie was an integral part of our childhood, she was kind and loving to me and my sister, Janet. Janet and her daughter Courtney will be in attendance for everything next week and she looks forward to thanking everyone in person for sharing their kind words. Aunt Marie was the last of the Kaseta family. They lived at 236 Clark Place in Elizabeth. We visited there often as children with our parents. Again, our thanks to everyone.

Dear Janet, We met several years ago when you visited your Aunt for a while. I did Marie’s hair for many years. Somehow we bonded and enjoyed a very nice friendship. She was a strong woman but sadly the last several years were hard on her. I’m glad she’s finally found peace. ♥️?Judy
