Olga Kertesz, age 97 years, of the Croton Section of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at home, surrounded by her loving family and under the caring watch of Hunterdon Hospice.
Born in Ramsey, OH, daughter of the late Paul and Christina Peheleski Swidonovich, she lived in the lower eastside of NYC, NY, moving to Flemington, NJ for her high school years until present.
Olga was an avid reader, loved her special Easter dinners, cooking and baking with family, the beach, loved traveling with family, but mostly loved her family and being home with her children. She was the ultimate MOM.
She was a parishioner of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, as well as a member of their Rosary Altar Society.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen; a daughter, Gloria J. Smutney; a great grandson, David; and three son-in-laws, Edward Smutney, Harold White, and Albert Compton.
Surviving are her five daughters, Katherine Compton, Christine White, Stephanie Ross and her husband, Neil, Helene Kertesz-Rush and her husband, Jerre, and Theresa Sheehan and her husband, Tim; a sister Anne Oleksuik; nine grandchildren, Debra, Jean, Edward, Laura, Steven, Paul, Sarah, Stephen, and Andrew; six great grandchildren, Michael, Kati, Patrick, Kira, Molly, and Miranda; many nieces, nephews and extended family; and dear friends.
Family and friends will gather on Monday, July 13, 2020 from 9:00-10:15 a.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ 08822. Please note: masks are required to be worn at all times on the funeral home premises and all persons must maintain social distancing requirements. Please follow the instructions of the Wright & Ford Care Team Ambassadors upon arrival. Your respect and understanding is greatly appreciated by the family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the gathering beginning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Please note: masks are required to be worn at all times on the church premises and all persons must maintain social distancing requirements. Please follow the instructions of both the Wright & Ford Care Team Ambassadors and Lazarus Ministers of the church upon arrival.
Burial next to her beloved husband, Stephen, will follow in the family plot at St. Magdalen Cemetery, 94 North Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
