Patricia E. “Pat” Byron, age 82 years, of Easton, PA, died peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Country Arch Care Center.
Born July 29, 1939, in Scranton, daughter of the late Patrick F. and Eleanor A. Bensing Byron, she was a 1957 graduate of Scranton Central High School.
Pat was a United States Marine Corps veteran serving active duty from 1961 until 1963 and obtaining the rank of lance corporal. Prior to her retirement, Patricia was employed as a corrections officer at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women in Clinton, N.J.
A former member of the Green Ridge Presbyterian Church in Scranton, Pat served on the board of deacons.
Pat was a kind and caring person who had a great affinity for animals of all kinds.
She is survived by her beloved companion, Annie; and will be dearly missed by her friends.
Funeral services and committal prayers with military honors will be conducted Friday at noon in Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Township, PA, under the direction of Duffy and Snowdon Funeral Home, Phone: (570) 842-8501, 401 Church Street, Moscow, PA 18444.
Local arrangements are under the care of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
