Born in Lares, Puerto Rico on March 18, 1952, son of the late Pedro Irizarry and Ernesta Velez, he had formerly lived in Newark and Carteret, NJ, prior to moving to Clinton Township in 2012.
Growing up in a small town with limited means, Pedro knew the value of working hard and staying humble. He was loyal to everyone he met, and put his family and faith in God first in all that he did.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Nereida; his children, Mary Isabel, Pedro Jr., and John; his grandchildren, Brianna, Pedro Jr., Mary Samantha, and Emily; and many extended family and dear friends.
One of the highest compliments one can can give another person is also the most simple phrase to say and so powerful when it’s said in earnest: “He’s a good person.” Pedro was truly a good person and will be missed by many, but all who knew him rest easier with the assurance that he is in God’s heavenly kingdom.
Pedro will lie in repose on Friday, November 13, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ 08822.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Jonathan S. Toborowsky will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ. Burial in the parish cemetery will immediately follow mass. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church on Saturday morning beginning at 9:45 a.m.
Kindly note that masks and social distancing are required at all funeral related events. Please follow the instructions of the Wright & Ford Care Team Family Ambassadors upon arrival at the funeral home, church and cemetery.
Please visit Pedro’s permanent life celebration site at www.wrightfamily.com to light a candle of hope, leave messages of condolence, share words of comfort and recollection, and post photographs of his life.
