Rev. Paul Eberle, age 80 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, went home to his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Rolling Hills Care Center, Clinton Township, NJ.
Born in Warsaw, NY, June 5, 1939, son of the late Virginia and Romulus Eberle, he had resided in the Flemington area since 1980.
Paul was a retired sales representative with Tohickon Glass Eyes, Upper Black Eddy, PA. He was known around the country in his field and was well respected and admired. His word was his handshake, and through his efforts the company greatly expanded.
Paul’s true calling though, was to serve the Lord, first as a missionary and later as a Pastor. As a teenager he received God’s word in his heart, and was called to bring the message of Christ’s love to the world. He and his wife, June, spent eighteen years in Sicily and other areas of Italy professing the love of Christ that could not be contained in just their own hearts. During their tenure in Italy they helped to share the Gospel with many people and consequently helped to make the world a truly better place.
Paul was extremely kind and a very good listener. Making friends quickly, he had the gift of small-talk and could relate to almost anyone. He grounded all he did in the tenants of the Bible and in doing so, was one of the most humble people around. In the words of Micah 6:18, Paul, acted justly, loved humbly and walked humbly with his God.
He was a man of many hobbies and interests, including collecting stamps and coins, as well as gardening and reading. He and June also enjoyed traveling and seeing God’s beauty though nature and in his people.
In Revelations 21:4, it is revealed that: And God shall wipe away all tears form their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away. Please do not shed tears for Paul, as he is now in the heavenly mansion promised for all who long for God’s appearing. Please pray for him, as he is surely praying for us.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Eberle.
Surviving are his cherished wife, June Eberle with whom he joined hands in marriage fifty-five years ago; his children, Barbara Eberle, Nate and his wife, Maryann Eberle, and Bethany and her husband, Jake Schuddeboom; his grandchildren, Joshua and Kyle Schuddeboom; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barbara Murray, Nancy & Roger Werner, Lucille and Dave Rondeau, Robert Frazier, and William and Janet Frazier; his cats, Maddie Mae, Lexie, and Leo; several extended family members; and many dear friends around the world.
Paul will lie in repose on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Brian Cooper will take place on Monday, February 10, 2020 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Montgomery Evangelical Free Church, 246 Belle Mead Griggstown Road, Belle Mead, NJ 08502. Everyone is kindly requested to meet directly at the church on Monday morning beginning at 10:15 a.m.
Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 69 Capner Street, Flemington, NJ.
