Richard Paul “Rick” Hubert, age 63 years, of West Amwell Township, NJ, died suddenly but peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2022, at his home.
Born at the Hunterdon Medical Center on May 1, 1959, Rick was a son of George and Lucy Youngman Hubert, and was a lifelong area resident.
Graduating from Hunterdon Central Regional High School in 1979, he would continue on to work as a Union Carpenter, then owned and operated his own trucking business, and was currently a heavy equipment teacher at Hunterdon County Polytech. Additionally, he had taught heavy equipment operational skills classes at Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility. In short, Rick LOVED excavating and truly enjoyed teaching the craft to the next generation. People often would joke that he was happiest when on a backhoe and would drive it to work if it could go as fast as his Harley!
A true man of the outdoors, he loved animals and had an affinity for anything that went fast; from motorcycles, to snowmobiles to stock cars, he enjoyed them all. Growing up around the Flemington Speedway afforded Rick a weekly view of the races, something that stuck with him his entire life. Most recently he enjoyed racing his #4 car at New Egypt speedway as well as many other racetracks around the circuit. he made many friends and his racing family was a very special part of his world.
With a deep and unbinding faith in his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, Rick was a longtime member of Amwell Church of the Brethren. He would want all reading this to not be saddened by his sudden passing, but to take heart and to remember that to be absent from the body, is to be home with the Lord.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and father, are his wife, Janet Lynn Glosenger Hubert; his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Tony Hall; his daughter, Erin Suzanne Hubert; his brother and sister-in-law, George and Cynthia Hubert; his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Leon ‘Marvin’ Floyd; several nieces, nephews, and extended family; and many dear friends.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to Noon at Amwell Church of the Brethren, 40 Sandbrook-Headquarters Road, Stockton, NJ, 08559.
A life celebration service officiated by Rev. Robert DiSalvio will follow the gathering, beginning at noon, and to which all are welcome.
