Rishi Jaideo Mahangi

December 10, 1973 - April 15, 2020

Rishi Jaideo Mahangi, age 46 years, of Flemington, NJ, died after a valiant fight on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, son of Polly Gunpat Ramrajee and the late Ramkaran Mahangi, Rishi came to the US in March of 2017 living in Flemington.

While in Flemington, Rishi would work at the Staples, as the Print and Design Lead.

Surviving are a wife, Listra Edwin-Mahangi; a daughter, Faith Sabrina Edwin; several extended family; and many dear friends.

A public life celebration service is being planned at a later date under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Flemington, NJ. Please check back on this page for updated service information; again, the information will not be available until the restrictions are lifted.

Private family visitation and a prayer service, followed by cremation at Ewing Crematory, Ewing Township, NJ, took place under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.

Inurnment of Rishi’s cremains will take place in Trinidad.

It was a great pleasure to know being close friends with his sister Roshini and his mother Polly. He was a kind, gentle, funny soul. May he rest in paradise.

God bless you my sweet, loving, funny cousin. Gone too soon but will always be remembered for being a person who is always so peaceful and unique. We will always love you from Siree, Mila and Nadia.

Thank you all for your prayers and support during this time. My family and I will always miss his laughter echoing throughout the house and his bright smile. He taught me how to love God wholeheartedly and for that I am forever grateful. I am so blessed to call him my dad and now, my angel!

Thank you all so much for the amazing messages. My Uncle was such an amazing soul. My home feels so empty without his beautiful presence. He was like a second father to me. I thank god every day that I was able to love and care for him. I will miss him for the rest of my life.❤️

Rishi was one of the most genuine and honest person one can encounter in life. Many of us who knew him and whose lives he touched can consider ourselves fortunate. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. The sadness will fade in time but the joy of having had him in our lives will always be there, we may no longer see you but we will always hear you. I had the pleasure of knowing Rishi during our time at TDC and I always remember him as a cheerful and positive person, willing to assist anyone who needed it. My condolences to his family....Rishi you will be missed.

Dearest Rishi, You will always be remembered for having a heart of gold. There was never a time you refused to assist even if it meant going out of your way or working late. You were always very professional and did everything you had to with perfection. I always gave you credit for teaching me how to bind documents and many thanks for the times you assisted me. The friendship we had seemed like it was built over such a long period as a result of how easy and well we got along with each other. For the time I have known you , it was worth it. I am happy that I was able to visit you even after you migrated to New Jersey. During this time, you went all out to ensure that my sister , friend and I got the most out of New Jersey. This was truly enjoyed and thanks must be also given to your lovely wife, Listra who was very hospitable and accommodative towards us. We certainly remained in touch and I knew you were not well last month but had no idea how much worse you got. This was a big shock to me and must be very tragic and difficult for his family. I must say though that I am happy that you were happy as you got to do exactly what you told me you really wanted to do in life (you took great care of your mum and sister, got married to Listra and moved to New Jersey). We worked at TDC in Trinidad and Tobago. Rishi was always a very helpful and straight forward person. Often would walk into the lunch room and he would be giving a joke. Shocked at his untimely passing. My sincerest condolences to his dear family. Definitely gone too soon. May he Rest In Eternal Peace. AMEN.
