Robert George Perehinys, Jr., age 58 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, died on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born at Hunterdon Medical Center on April 19, 1964, son of Mary McCaffrey Perehinys and Robert George Perehinys, Sr., Bobby, as he was known to most, was a lifelong area resident.
Graduating from Hunterdon Central Regional High School in 1982, Bobby was the owner and operator of Sweet Valley Farms & Perrins Paving & Excavating where he was known as a master of his craft; always fair to his clients and performing impeccable work.
Growing up in the 1970’s, working on the family dairy farm instilled the values of hard work and family into Bobby at an early age. A true family man, he lived for the moment and his heart was always thinking of his family and friends. His two daughters, Ruby Rose and Lola Lean, were his world, and Bobby worked hard to ensure that they were well provided for and that they knew to always follow their hearts.
With a spirit that craved adventure, Bobby loved big toys and definitely marched to the beat of his own drum. You always knew where you stood with him, as he called things as he saw them and always fought for the side of what was right. And in Bobby’s mind, he was always right!
He loved the outdoors, and some of his favorite adventures were on a snowmobile with family and friends, pushing them to their limits.
The philosopher Viktor Frankl once wrote, “We cannot, after all, judge a biography by its length, by the number of pages in it; we must judge by the richness of the contents…Sometimes the ‘unfinisheds’ are among the most beautiful symphonies.” Though his story had much more to be written, Bobby’s daughters, his family, and his friends, will continue to learn from the “richness of the contents” of his time on Earth, until all are reunited with him one day in a place where there is no pain or suffering, but only light, peace, and hope.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his two beloved daughters, Ruby Rose Harding-Perehinys and Lola Lean Harding-Perehinys; his brother and sister-in-law, George and Darcy Perehinys; his brother, John Perehinys (Jennifer Perehinys, his sister-in-law, died in 2019); the mother of his children, Sarah Harding; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family; his Godchildren; his cherished dog, “Freeway”; and many dear friends.
Bobby will lie in repose on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Matthew Marinelli will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church on Saturday morning beginning at 9:45 a.m. and to kindly follow the instructions of the Wright & Ford Care Team Family Ambassadors upon arrival.
