Robert Thomas Hewitt

May 8, 1947 - January 29, 2020

Robert Thomas Hewitt was born in Greensburg, PA on May 8, 1947 to Robert L. and Evelyn (Thomas) Hewitt. He graduated from Greensburg High School ’65 and received a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from Otterbein University ‘69 and an MS in Organizational Dynamics from University of Pennsylvania ‘89.

He spent many years as an executive for financial software companies located in Florida, Philadelphia, and New York City. He was an active member of the Whitford Country Club (Exton, PA) and Trenton Country Club. After retirement, he started a tax company in Flemington, NJ.

He enjoyed working with people and was always generous with others. Bob was a loving husband and devoted father. His favorite occupation was Grandfather, and “Papa” enjoyed every second he spent with his grandchildren. He is deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Anne (Benard) Hewitt, and daughter, Christine and husband Daniel Belin and two grandsons Peter and Thomas. He is also survived by his mother Evelyn Thomas, sister Diane Shirey and brother Daniel Hewitt.

Life celebration services and cremation at the Chapel of Ewing Crematory, Ewing Township, NJ, are private under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.

My heart goes out to the family of Bob Hewitt. He was a prince of a man, whom I will truly miss.

I remember Robert picking up Christine from our apartment in PA. He was kind and I enjoyed talking to him the few times we met. My favorite memory was Peter calling out for Papa at Tommy's christening. Those boys sure love their Papa, who was certainly a big inspiration for their mother.
