Ronald Dale Heft, Jr., age 57 years, of Washington Township, NJ, died on Thursday, October 17, 2019.
Born at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ on June 29, 1962, Ron was the son of Ronald Dale Heft, Sr. and Virginia Strunk Heft. Raised in Hampton, he had lived in Washington for the past four years, having formerly lived in Franklin Township, Warren County, NJ and Easton, PA.
A 1980 graduate of North Hunterdon Regional High School, Ron had worked for the Township of Lebanon in the Department of Public Works for over thirty-five years. His hard work and jokester attitude was appreciated by all who worked with him.
Known as a child at heart because of his innocent and genuine love for all people, he was a wonderful listener who would give a stranger the shirt off his back and not ask for anything in return. He always kept a positive attitude and enjoyed seeing others succeed in their personal endeavors.
An avid fisherman and hunter, he greatly enjoyed the outdoors. He was also a very accomplished bowler, and was the second youngest person to be elected into the Morris County Bowling Hall of Fame. He was a staple at Oakwood Lanes where he was a mentor and coach to many people over the years.
Ron would want to be remembered for all of the above, but more importantly, he would want to be remembered as a loving father who would do anything for his children. Family was always his top priority.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Corinne Elizabeth Heft; a son, Jesse Rhyne Heft; his brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Kim Heft; several extended family members; and many dear friends who will forever keep his legacy alive!
A celebration and gathering of Ron’s life will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2019, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Round Valley United Methodist Church, 30 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ 08833.
Burial was private at Valley Road Cemetery, Hampton, NJ, under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ 08822.

Ron was on my bowling team at Oakwood for many years. I along with everyone there loved him. My fondest memories were how much he was dedicated to bowling but to his friends as well. He had the best smile and prankster personality! He one time took a small amount of chewing tobacco and put in my Diet Coke while I was up bowling. I kept asking him if he spit that in there! Ron was on my bowling team at Oakwood for many years. I along with everyone there loved him. My fondest memories were how much he was dedicated to bowling but to his friends as well. He had the best smile and prankster personality! He one time took a small amount of chewing tobacco and put in my Diet Coke while I was up bowling. I kept asking him if he spit that in there! Laugh oh my goodness . He was the best bowler with perfect 300’s and converted splits. I’m so saddened by his passing and May he RIP. God Bless his family and friends. Fondly, Ada
