Ronald Wisniewski, age 71 years, of Miami, FL, died suddenly on his annual fishing trip to the Salmon River, Pulaski, NY, on Thursday, April 12, 2018, shortly after a successful afternoon of fishing.
Born in Somerville, NJ, April 20, 1946, son of the late Joseph and Stella Kosko Wisniewski, Ronald had resided in Miami for the past seven years, having formerly lived in Richmond, VA and Wilmington, NC. Raised in Manville, NJ he was a 1964 graduate of Manville High School.
For many years Ronald owned and operated Interior Fantasys Florist, Manville, NJ. He worked hard and this work was a wonderful outlet for his creative side, however he never regarded work as defining his life. Rather, he used his work as a tool to help develop himself on all levels and most importantly, take care of his family.
A deep-thinker, with a sense of humor that made him the unwanted center of attention, Ronald had a strong sense of right and wrong. He was always regarded as the glue that kept his large and extended family together, and his genuine concern and caring nature made him not just an uncle, but a second father to his nieces and nephews.
Losing his wife Janet Amendolair Wisniewski at a young age in 1976, he was very proud to have raised his two sons, Keith and Todd, to be strong, genuine and caring souls. He found his happiness and measured his accomplishments by the happiness and personal successes of his sons, whatever that happiness and personal success meant to them as individuals. To sum it up, Ronald simply enjoyed, “being.”
He was an avid outdoorsman, particularly enjoying fishing. He was known to go to the Salmon River in Central New York State two to three times a year on fishing trips, and his love of nature and wildlife showed his character of wanting to live a peaceful and happy existence without a lot of fluff, as being showy was not his way.
A United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, Ronald was honorably discharged at the war’s end.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ronald was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Roy and Russell Wisniewski.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Frances Wisniewski of Seattle, WA; a son and his partner, Todd Wisniewski and Eddie Gonzales of Plano, TX; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara (Cookie) and Joseph Veneziale of Raritan Township, NJ; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Karen Wisniewski and Robert (Bosh) and Bonnie Wisniewski, all of Manville, NJ; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family; and many dear friends.
