Rose-Marie “Roe” Marsh, age 82 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in New York City, NY, April 4, 1939, daughter of the late John and Margaret Ferrier Wilt, Roe had lived for many years in Rockaway, NJ, prior to moving to Raritan Township in 1991 to be closer to family.
For more than thirty-five years, she worked as a Claims Processor for Prudential, Rockaway, NJ.
She and her late husband, Bernard Joseph Marsh, spent many years enjoying life together, and their times at Lake Wallenpaupack in Northeastern, Pennsylvania, were a source of cheerful memories. Sadly, Bernard passed in 1983 after thirteen years of marriage. Roe thought of him daily, and loved him more with each passing day until she closed her eyes and joined him in heaven.
A cook at heart, she was well known for her hearty and tasty soups, among many other delicacies. She had a knack and skill for sewing, and made many items for friends and family over the years. Imitation cabbage patch kids were a speciality for which she will be forever remembered, as she made many of them as gifts.
Roe’s love of cooking, as well as gadgets, resulted in a large collection of the “As Seen On TV” kitchen gadgets which she had in every room of her home. She also enjoyed to shop at the Dollar Store, and there was not a poodle or hummingbird that she didn’t consider family.
Though her life took a turn in direction she could never imagine with her husband passing at such a young age, Roe devoted herself to hard work and family, ensuring that her brothers, sister and the entire family knew that cherishing each day was so important to living life.
In addition to her parents and husband, Roe was preceded in death by all of her brothers, William, Edward, George, John Jr., Robert, and Richard.
Surviving are a sister, Margaret Orr; her sisters-in-law, Becky and Wilma Wilt; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and extended family.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
