Roseann Allison Parks, December 07, 1958- May 20, 2020.
“Born in Flemington, NJ and resident of Lebanon Township, NJ.
The words won’t work. They are too inadequate and shallow to justly describe such a beautiful, strong, kindhearted person. They fail to capture our mother, Roseann Parks. Nor, the pain of losing her. What words can describe the pain of losing your mother?
Plus, she doesn’t want me blathering on. That wasn’t her style. In fact, my mother would want you to laugh and she would do her best to make you smile with a witty joke or a sharp observation. Her passion was people watching. My mother may have never left a mall’s food court if allowed to stay. Chewing her snapping gum slowly, she could sit for hours, tunnel-visioned like a child watching cartoons, and stare over the top rim of her glasses. She stared and judged but not in meanness or arrogance. Rather, she wanted the tension of life broken up by humor and searched every person, place, situation, and moment for a joke. When she smiled, the bridge of her nose turned white and her eyes smiled as much as her mouth did. How that smile will be missed…
My mother, Roseann, wanted to be strong for everyone she loved, first, and herself, second. She fought off the darkness by laughing and making others smile. In every future dark moment and every time strength must be summoned to overcome an obstacle, the memory of her smile and kindness will guide me through.
Roseann is survived by her two children, Brendan and Courtney. Her 4 grandchildren, Karrington, Kameron, Khloe, and Khalessi.” written with love by her son, Brendan
