Rosemarie Teresa Karajian, age 75 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died suddenly but peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, January 27, 1947, daughter of the late Philip and Lucille Passarella Marrotta, Rosemarie was raised in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn and moved to the Flemington, NJ, area in 1975.
Graduating from St. Nicholas High School in 1964, Rosemarie would go on to work for many years at ExxonMobil in the Customer Service Laboratories where she was much loved by the team, as well as by her clients.
She was also a ‘Realtor Emeritus’, an honor bestowed by the Board of Realtors on real estate agents who have been honorably serving the profession and their communities for forty years or more. Rosemarie was a long-time agent with Coldwell Banker, Flemington, NJ, where her passion and smile made an impression upon all who she met. She was known to strive to find the perfect home for each of her clients, and there was no proverbial mountain she would not climb to find the perfect fit for each person. She was fair and honest and knew her craft inside and out. Her opinions were respected by all, and her drive for perfection inspirational!
Never forgetting where she came from, Rosemarie was fond of her Italian and ‘Polish-Irish Brooklyn’ neighborhood heritage. She was known by all to be color, religious, etc. blind, meaning she saw people only for their heart and how they used it. She loved everyone, and greatly enjoyed meeting people from different areas and cultures.
Her career at ExxonMobil was special in many ways, especially for it was there where she would meet a young John Karajian, who captured her heart, as she captured his. Rosemarie would easily blend into his loving Armenian family and add the Armenian culture to her persona; from food to faith, she participated and loved it all. The couple would join hands in matrimony on May 5, 1974, at Holy Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church, Queens, NY, and enjoyed a life of love that was inspirational to all who knew them.
With a strong faith, Rosemarie prayed daily for her family and friends. She was known by all as a true, ‘communicator’, who kept family and friends together with her constant display of love and affection. She was also not afraid to have and express her opinion, which always revolved on finding the best outcome for all involved.
With many hobbies, Rosemarie loved being on Facebook and playing Candy Crush. She was also always rooting for her New York Yankees and glued to the television whenever there was an episode of NCIS or Law & Order playing. With a deck of cards available at all times, blackjack and poker were but just two games most would not want to challenge Rosemarie on, unless they wanted to lose quickly! She was also fond of playing slot machines, with her times at Borgata and the other Atlantic City, NJ, casinos being the source of many happy memories.
The poet Rumi once wrote, “We are born of love; love is our mother.” Though never having children herself, Rosemarie truly was a mother to all she met; her love was constant, genuine, and abundant. To honor Rosemarie, is to love all peoples, freely and always.
In addition to her parents, Rosemarie was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Albert Roy Karajian; and a cousin, John Sigismondo.
Surviving are her beloved husband, John Ara Karajian; her siblings and their spouses, Joanne and Joseph Bruno and Philip Marrotta and his wife, Antoinette Basileo; her two nephews, Christopher Bruno and Peter Geraigery; her aunt and uncle, Josephine and Daniel Passarella; numerous cousins and extended family; her Coldwell Banker family; and many dear friends.

Jamie Jr. Funeral Chapel, 718-224-2390.
