Rudolph “Rudy” Stangel, age 89 years. of Alexandria Township, NJ, died peacefully at home on Saturday, February 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Rudolph (Rudy) was raised in Chicago where he spent most of his life before moving to New Jersey in 2008. He was known for his love of films, TV and music, wonderful cooking, his gentle spirit, a passion for cars and history, the Chicago Cubs and an unwavering love of his family as a Husband, Father and Grandfather or “Pa”.
Rudolph spent his career as an engineer for Bell Labs (AT&T/Lucent) helping to develop the patent for the rotary phone. He was also an original “Bleacher Bum” at Wrigley Field in the 1950’s.
He leaves a legacy of love as he was a recent widower after 54 years of marriage to his wife, Elizabeth, and is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Halter and son-in-law, Jeffrey Halter, and granddaughter, Shoshanna.
