My condolences to the family. My parents Bart and Suzy Masella from the North Plainfield area growing up spent so much time with Russ that I basically felt like he was an uncle to me. My dad was a firefighter in Plainfield and bowled in many different leagues. I talked to him when my dad passed away last Halloween and my mom called him and then when my mom died of a heartache 2 weeks later I spoke with him again. I grew up in echo lanes basically started sleeping on 2 chairs going to 3 then 4 as I went from 4 years old to almost teens. Russ and I had so much fun together. He even sent me a coloring book page I made for him 40 years ago recently. We moved to Tucson AZ in 2006 so we hadn't seen him in quite sometime but my parents kept in touch. He used to spend a lot of time at our parties growing up, including super bowls and my sweet 16th birthday which he got on the guitar and sang you're 16 you're beautiful....We spent many summers at the beach houses at the jersey shore feeding ducks and falling in the water off the dock trying to get away from the crazy water gun and ice cube fights. I know they are all rejoicing in heaven right now and having a great time.

My sincere sympathy to all the family. My childhood memories are filled with the good times that Russ and I had. I recall walking with Russ after dinner through the streets of Union harmonizing while singing. He had an excellent ear and could sing harmonies almost spontaneously. It seems that nearly every Saturday was spent at the Four Seasons bowling lanes, where games were three for a dollar. I also recall his dedicated care of his father, who had suffered a severe stroke. With affection, Charles Bordogna
