Shirley Ann Unangst, age 65 years, of Alexandria Township, NJ, died suddenly on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at her home.

Born in New Brunswick, NJ on November 19, 1955, daughter of  Shirley Brown Unangst and the late Carl Unangst, Sr., Shirley was raised in Somerville, NJ and had lived in Glen Gardner for eight years prior to moving to Alexandria Township almost two years ago.

A true Mom and family person. Shirley loved the Jersey Shore, particularly Wildwood.  She had a strong faith and believed in the beauty and healing presence of angels.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her fiancé of many years, David Podejko; and her cousin, Ray “BoBoo” Unangst.

Surviving, in addition to her  mother, are her daughter, Amanda Marie Unangst; her siblings, Carl Unangst, Jr. and his wife, Patty; Dave Unangst and his wife, Carole; her granddaughter, Carly Grish; her great grandson, Carter Richards; a great granddaughter due shortly, whose name will be Iris Theres Ann Richards; her dog, Bubba; her cats, Pookie and Wizard; and many dear friends.

Shirley will lie in repose on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of  Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. A brief prayer will follow at 11:30 a.m.

Cremation at the Chapel of Ewing Crematory, Ewing, NJ, will be private.
