Steven Tuccio, of Flemington Borough, NJ, died peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at his home.
Steve spent his childhood living in Naples, Italy and traveling around Europe with his father Vincent (Jim), who worked for the US Department of the Navy and beloved mother, Charlotte. He was a proud graduate of Xavier High School in NYC and later attended Rutgers.
Although he spent a career in sales, Steve had many true loves: medicine was one and he was a trained EMT and later a founding member of the North County Emergency Response Team in Hunterdon County. He loved the Boy Scouts and was Scout Master for Troop 141 in Belvidere, NJ where his son, Steven, earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Steve was a scuba diver and instructor, an airplane pilot, a race car driver, a rock climber, a snorkeler, and raised and field trained champion Springer Spaniels. He was an active member of the Cherryville Repeaters and a member of the Hunterdon County Republican Committee representing Flemington Borough District 3. His greatest passion was sailing. Steve had a 100 Ton Captain’s license and was an ASA certified sailing instructor. He loved to race on the sailboat Tango and was a member of the Raritan Yacht Club in Perth Amboy. He spent countless hours on his 28’ Islander “Dewpoint.” He spent the last decade as a boat delivery captain sailing the Intercoastal and to the Caribbean Islands bringing sailboats and yachts to and from New Jersey.
His greatest love, however, was for his family. Steve leaves behind his son, Steven, who he considered his greatest and proudest accomplishment, “the greatest Mom in the world” Charlotte, beloved sister, Marisa Stuck, her husband Bob and two nieces, Karen and her husband Alex, and Caitlin, his baby brother Doug and his wife Jaimie, several cousins and his Life Partner, Marcia Karrow and their four-legged dog-child, Rota, as well as countless friends. He loved his friends and neighbors and will be missed by so many.
Complete arrangements will be announced under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
