Susan Meryl Horowitz, age 73 years, of Hillsborough Township, NJ, died suddenly on Monday, May 4, 2020 at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, NJ.

Born in Staten Island, NY on December 4, 1946, daughter of the late Abraham and Miriam Greenberg Savall, Susan grew up in Elizabeth, NJ, living in Hackettstown and West Orange, NJ before moving to Hillsborough Township, NJ five years ago.

A complete life legacy reflecting on this loving mother, grandmother, and friend will be forthcoming.

Graveside services officiated by Rabbi Eli Kornfeld at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ, took place under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.

Dear Lisi, Molly and Family, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom and Grand-mom who was my dear friend Susan. I have know Susan for a few years, meeting her while I was bringing Holy Communion to the Catholic residents of Foothills. She was always outgoing, friendly, kind and loving!!! She adored her family and we talked about and prayed for your good health. She always had time to share with me a new picture of Molly!! We enjoyed pizza lunches together and also some chinese food with some of our mutual friends. I never heard your Mom say a negative word about anyone! She also wrote to me from time to time and I cherish those notes. One God created us all and I trust your Mom/Grandmom is in the loving presence of the God who knew her, loved her and willed her into existence. I will keep her and you all in my prayers. Susan loved a good joke and loved to laugh! She loved music-- Leonardo's in particular! She enjoyed writing poetry and painting. Our friendship began as a result of her kindness and caring toward Fred's Mom, Vivian, and we will always remember how she was there for Vivian when we were unable to be there. She showed great compassion for many of the residents and staff at Foothill. We will miss her.
