Victor Joseph Marshall, age 50 years, of Manville Borough, NJ, died suddenly but peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2022 at his home.
Born in Somerville, NJ, January 3, 1972, son of Alice Timmer Marshall and the late William Marshall, Sr., Vic was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Manville High School in 1990.
He had worked for many years as a printer and pressman for Thermo XPress, East Hanover, NJ. For the past six months, Vic was working as a groundsman at Hamilton Farms Golf Course, where he often referred to his colleagues as his second family. He was also a long time member of the Schaefer Farm of Horror team, and enjoyed this annual event each year with his Schaefer Farms family.
A dreamer from a child, Vic was strong-willed and simply loved living life. A devoted son, loving father and grandfather, cherished brother, and amazing friend are but several ways in which people will remember this larger than life personality.
Loving the outdoors, fishing at Round Valley Reservoir and kayaking in whatever stream he was able to without going to jail were some of Vic’s pastimes. He and his family also loved camping, with a tent being his home away from home and many happy memories being created over the years under the stars.
Having many hobbies, he also greatly enjoyed riding his Vulcan 900 motorcycle, playing golf and pool, creating many woodturning and woodburning projects, and even crocheting and knitting! He was an avid gamer, with Dungeons & Dragons being at the top of his list when selecting something to play.
Though his life ended suddenly, Vic’s family hopes you will remember the lessons he taught everyone about being their own person and staying proud, as well as always being there for others in any way they needed. To live life in this way, is to honor Vic.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his siblings, William Marshall, Jr., Sharon Marshall, and Nathaniel Marshall.
Surviving are his wife of twenty-eight years, Moricia Lynn Marshall, with whom he joins hands in marriage on August 13, 1994 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Somerville, NJ; his children, Dallas Kirchner, William Nathanial Marshall, and Cassandra Marshall; his grandchildren, Caleb Nunez and Grant Pyznar; his siblings, Catherine Beveridge and Jonathan Marshall; his father-in-law, Bill Yard; his sister-in-law, Megan Vaccaro; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Nicole Yard; his pets, Jade the bird, Mr. Buns the rabbit, and Arya the dog; several extended family members; and many dear friends.
Victor will lie in repose on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
