Vittoria Covello, age 79 years, of Colonial Heights, VA, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the home of her daughter in Chester, VA.
Born on September 5, 1944, in Italy, daughter of the late Giacomo and Francesca Mannino, Vittoria was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She married the love of her life, Joseph Covello, in January of 1962. They welcomed their first born, Graziella Covello in June of 1964 and emigrated to the United States where Joseph would go on to open numerous restaurants while Vittoria worked in the home raising their five children. Her favorite pastime was being surrounded with her family and cooking their favorite Italian dishes. She always carried herself with grace and dignity.
In addition to parents, Vittoria was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in December of 2021, and daughter Graziella, in August of 1986. Siblings, Giuseppina Musso, Marianna Mannino and Vincenzo Mannino.
Surviving are her cherished children and their spouses, Rosolino and Rosalba Covello, Francesca and Paul Randazzo, Liliana and Dennis Hardy, and Jack Covello; her brother, Giuseppe Mannino; her grandchildren, Vincenzo and Katherine Randazzo, Giuseppina and Matthew Murray, Graziella and Emile Khattar, Gabriella and Lewis Williams, Marco, Eleanor Grace, Isabella and Alexia; her great grandchildren, Freya, Roman, Mila, Bria, Hayes and Theodora; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family; and many dear friends.
Family and friends will gather together on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 10:30-11:00 a.m., at the Chapel of Somerset Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920, under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. There will be signs posted to direct you as you enter the cemetery grounds, and kindly follow the instructions of the Wright & Ford Family Ambassadors for parking.
A Life Celebration service will follow the gathering at 11:00 a.m., and all are invited to bring heartfelt memories to share. If you are unable to attend but would like something read on your behalf, please click HERE to generate an email to the funeral home.
Entombment will follow next to her beloved husband, Joseph, in the mausoleum.
