Yvan Jacques Levasseur, M.D., age 90 years, of Warren Township, Somerset County, NJ, died peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at his home at Brightview Senior Living, where he was loved by all.
He was the only child born to Alberte Levasseur (Beaudoin) and Joseph Levasseur on February 20, 1929 in Shawinigan Falls, Canada located in the province of Quebec. Shawinigan Falls was his home until the age of 19 when he moved to Nova Scotia to attended St. Francis Xavier University in Canada with a full scholarship and graduated in 1951. Then onto receiving his Doctor degree in medicine from the University of Ottawa in 1955.
Yvan worked in the pharmaceutical industry in phase one clinical trials and Medical Affairs. His last 15 years of his career was with Novartis in Summit, New Jersey where he was in charge of two drugs to dissolve gall stones. Yvan is survived by his daughter Michele Levasseur who also worked for Novartis as a consultant to bring up operation for the cell and Gene therapies.
Deceased family members are his wife Geneva Levasseur, with whom he was married to for 62 years, and his son Marc Levasseur, who also followed the passion in the pharmaceutical world for Amgen as director of Engineer and Manufacturing.
Yvan has three surviving Grandchildren, Sean Levasseur, Natalie Levasseur Longchamp, and Gabrielle Levasseur Longchamp. He will be missed by all with in sincere insightfulness and caring to others.
Yvan will be buried with his wife and son in New Brunswick, Canada. There will be a small catholic mass in New Jersey, date to follow.
A complete life legacy reflecting on this adored husband, father, grandfather, and friend will be forthcoming.
